ECUADOR IS A MEMBER OF THE CIAT GOVERNING BOARD

Ecuador, represented by Marisol Andrade, Director General of the Internal Revenue Service, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), a public international organization that provides specialized technical assistance for the updating and modernization of tax administrations, created in 1967 and which brings together 42 member countries and associate member countries, on four continents.

The election of the Board of Directors for 2020-2021 took place today, June 23, at the CIAT Annual Administrative Session, in which the most important decisions for the management and institutional development of that organization are made, such as the planning of activities for that period, as well as the venues and topics of the upcoming CIAT Assemblies and Conferences.

The CIAT Board of Directors is composed of nine members elected by the General Assembly. It is responsible for directing and monitoring the implementation of activities, as well as outlining CIAT's strategic institutional directives.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the CIAT Annual Administrative Session did not take place in the Dominican Republic, as planned, and was held virtually in the morning from Panama.
